Aside from currently providing superior pharmacy services, NWHS will continue to investigate up and coming health care technology to determine it’s value in helping us to provide services in a more accurate and efficient manner. We are proud to be a leader within the pharmacy industry in using new and innovative technologies.

DocuTrack

We were the first pharmacy in our area to use DocuTrack, a digital document management system that allows us to handle and track documents with incredible accuracy and speed

Framework

Framework enables us to ‘track’ all prescription activities. We are able to constantly supervise and monitor client prescriptions from the doctor’s fax to the patient’s signature on the delivery receipt when the prescription is delivered. If the facility or patient requires information regarding their prescription, we are able to react immediately to meet their needs.  Framework not only provides NWHS with the ability to provide excellent customer service with Rx ‘tracking,’ but also allows NWHS staff to identify when prescriptions are filled, the technician who filled it, if the drug was brand or generic, correct dosing or drug interactions, and whether or not a particular prescription is covered by the patient’s insurance plan.

FacilityLink

FacilityLink is a web-based application that performs in conjunction with our current pharmacy software. It provides an efficient communication channel between the facility and Northwest Health Systems pharmacy, supplementing fax and telephone methods that are currently in place. All of NWHS’ facilities can log into FacilityLink with their assigned user-id and password. Passwords are obtained by contacting the pharmacy by email or phone and scheduling a brief training session with our resident expert.

Once logged into FacilityLink, numerous convenient options are available, which include:

• View your patient’s profile: view profile with real time access and communicate directly with the pharmacy technician that is assigned to your account.
• New admissions: Users will be able to submit new admission  requests to the pharmacy.
• Make profile changes: allows modification of the patient’s demographics, allergies, and non-drug orders to be requested from  the pharmacy.
• Discharge patients
• Request non-drug orders, new drug orders, reorders, refills or discontinue orders
• Perform drug quotes.
• Check on the status of patient orders previously sent to the pharmacy.
• Access, view and print medical records for patients (MAR’s, PO’s).

QuickMar

NWHS uses QuickMAR, the electronic medication administration record (eMAR) that has gained a foothold in inpatient settings to support medication administration safety. With paper records prone to being lost, incomplete, or misread, nurses need a fail-safe method to ensure that medications are administered correctly. QuickMAR makes administrative reporting breeze, simply run a report to identify discrepancies in med passes, or identify medications and patients by color  photographs of each resident and their medication with the click of a button.
